Ecothrive Charge
Ecothrive Charge is a completely natural potting soil enhancer, comprised solely from the droppings of beetles. It is full of beneficial microorganisms and plant growth catalysts. Charge will stimulate and accelerate robust plant growth and root zone conditions, in turn creating strong, high yielding plants.
How it works
Ecothrive Charge is 100% organic and contains one ingredient: premium grade beetle frass. This frass contains a perfectly balanced ratio of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Promoting a healthy biological presence in growing media, improving nutrient cycling and availability, further facilitating root growth. It also contains naturally occurring immune response activators, elevating your plants defence against bacterial and fungal disease.
The frass comes from beetle larvae that have been fed a diet of organic carrots and wheat bran. These foods provide the beetles with everything they need for a healthy lifecycle. This emphasis on a strict vegetarian diet ensures a consistent high quality end product.
Ecothrive Charge provides a dense range of micro and macro nutrients that are required for sustained, healthy plant growth. Secondly, the mealworm frass is packed full of beneficial microorganisms. Tests have shown that it steadily contains more that 450 million colony forming units of these beneficial rhizosphere bacteria per gram. These incredible bacteria ‘charge’ the potting mix, making it more desirable for root growth and function, improving nutrient cycling and availability when growing organically.
Also, being an organic waste from insects, Charge contains derivatives of chitin, which is a modified polysaccharide found in large concentrations in the cell walls of insects. The chitinous derivatives found in Charge are able to naturally elevate the plants in-built resistance to pests and disease, as well as increase growth rates and productivity, ensuring a healthy and fruitful crop.
How to use Ecothrive Charge
Ecothrive Charge is available in 1L, 5L & 10L tubs. For best results, mix Charge into your potting mix before planting. If your growing media has a low-medium nutritional content, such as Coco Coir or straight peat, mix it at 1-2% by volume (10-20ml per L). If you use a heavily fertilised potting soil mix it at 0.5-1% by volume (5-10ml per L). See below for more application info.
In the weeks after mixing into the growing media, water and feed as you would normally. Charge contains a mild kick of nutrients and will compliment your nutrient regime, not interfere with it.
For continued plant health and growth improvement, top dress Charge onto the surface of the growing media every 2-4 weeks.
Charge can also be mixed with water for use as growth boosting foliar spray. Mix at a rate of 1-2g/L of water or as compost tea. Always use dechlorinated water or at least leave your tap water in a container to stand over night before use.
