Grow Lighting
All hydroponic growing depends on good, reliable lighting systems. A range of bulb types can be used as grow lights, such as incandescents, fluorescent lights, high-intensity discharge lamps (HID), and light-emitting diodes (LED). Hydroponic growers have typically used high-pressure sodium (HPS/SON) and metal halide (MH) HID lights, but LEDs are becoming more popular due to their efficiency and economy. LED light is regarded as the fourth generation of light sources. LED lights produce the highest photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) of any light.
